To Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends to be held the 17th of 12th mo. 1887.

Dear Friends: It appears that John B. Gluyas has become so reckless through unwatchfulness so to bring about

(P 197) reproach on himself and Society. By the evidence it appears

that he called on John Hieber to go and swear that a certain cow was his after Hieber had told him he could not see any such mark on the cow, as Gluyas wanted to identify her by. Then again he drove six head of Miles Cockrell's calves off with a herd and the evidence in the case showing that he intended to apply them to his own use. He has also tried to implicate an innocent neighbor in the seeming theft with him.

The above subject has been investigated by the Overseers. On behalf of the Overseers,

Lewis C. White

The meeting then concluded.
