The Friends appointed at last meeting to visit Cynthia Holaday on account of her deviation report they paid her a visit to good satisfaction and she is continued a member.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 3rd month 10th 1860.

 

(P 18) A certificate was received, read and accepted conveying to this Meeting the rights of membership of Jordan Elleman and Sophia his wife and their minor children also William and Elizabeth McDonnald minors under their care from Back Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends bearing date 1st month 9th 1860. The clerk is directed to forward the suitable extracts to Rock Creek Monthly Meeting.

The London General Epistle was read in this meeting which was satisfactory and edifying.

The minutes of the State of Society as continued in the minutes of our last Yearly Meeting were read in this meeting to edification.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 4th month 14th 1860.

The clerk not being present, Sarah Ann Mendenhall was appointed for the day.

A certificate was received from Richland Monthly Meeting of Friends, Iowa, conveying to this Meeting the rights of membership of Jefse Kenworthy and family; also one for Eunice Kenworthy from the same Meeting. The clerk was directed to forward the suitable extracts to Richland Monthly Meeting.

The following minutes from our last Quarterly meeting were read in this meeting and directed to be entered on our minutes.

To Spring Grove Monthly Meeting, Kansas: By our last Yearly Meeting minutes we are informed that the request of Three Rivers and Bear Creek Monthly Meeting is granted in regard to a Quarterly Meeting. Said Quarterly Meeting to be opened at South River the second 7th of third month next. This Meeting therefore directs Three River, Bear Creek, Rich Square and Spring Grove Monthly Meetings to report to that Quarterly Meeting in future.

Louisa Dunbar was appointed Clerk for the day.

Sarah Ann Mendenhall and Louisa Dunbar are appointed to bring forward the name of a Friend to serve this meeting as Clerk and directed to report to next meeting.

All the queries were read in this meeting with written answers thereto as our discipline directs and the clerks directed to forward a copy of them to our next Quarterly Meeting.

Our beloved Friend Mary H. Harvey, a minister, attended this meeting and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from Miami Monthly Meeting of Friends, Ohio, whose company and gospel labors have been satisfactory and edifying to us.

Our beloved Friend Simon D. Harvey, an elder, attended this meeting in company with his wife and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from Miami Monthly Meeting dated 5th month the 24th.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 8th month 11th 1860.

Louisa Dunbar was appointed clerk for the day.

The Friends appointed at last meeting to bring forward the name of a Friend to serve as clerk report not complied with and they are continued to report to next meeting.

Our beloved Friend Enos G. Troy, a minister, acceptably attended this meeting and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from Milford Monthly Meeting of Friends, Indiana, bearing date 7th month 28th 1860, whose company and gospel labors have been satisfactory and edifying to us.

To Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends, Kansas: Dear Friends: This Meeting unites in proposing Elizabeth Holaday as a suitable Friend to fill the station of Elder, having been approved by South River Quarterly Meeting of ministers and elders 5th month 9th 1860.

(P 21) By an extract from South River Quarterly Meeting of ministers and elders, it appears they think Elizabeth Holaday a suitable friend to fill the station of elder which (this meeting) is united with and she is appointed to that station.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 9th month 8th 1860.

The committee continued at last meeting to propose to this the name of a Friend to serve this meeting as clerk proposes Louisa Dunbar with whom this meeting unites and she is appointed.

Elizabeth Holaday and Louisa Dunbar are appointed to make a change of overseers as they think proper and report to next meeting.

Seth W. Bray and family, having removed and settled within the limits of Kansas Monthly Meeting, requests our certificate of their right of membership conveyed to that Meeting. Millicent Jones and Sarah Ann Mendenhall are appointed in conjunction with a like committee of men friends; and if they find nothing to hinder, to prepare and produce (a certificate) to next meeting.

The Friends appointed at last meeting to make a change of overseers propose the same Friends with whom the meeting unites and they are appointed to that service.

(P 22) The Friends appointed at last meeting to prepare a certificate for Seth Bray and family produced one to this meeting which is directed to be forwarded.

A certificate received, read and accepted from Back Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends, Indiana, conveying to this Meeting the right of membership of Lemuel Pemberton and Mary his wife with their minor children, Eunice and Eva Pemberton.

Also, one from the same place conveying to this Meeting the right of membership of Susan Pemberton with her minor children, Joel, Anna, Cyrus, Mary and Jesse Pemberton 7th month 19th 1860.

Elizabeth Holaday and Millicent Jones are appointed in conjunction with Men Friends to prepare and produce one if they find nothing to hinder.
