Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 1st month 11th 1862.

The committee which was appointed at last meeting in the case of Noah W. Hiatt and family produced a certificate which was approved and signed.

(P 50) Richard Mendenhall reported that he had forwarded copies of the Yearly Meeting minutes to Friends residing at a distance as directed by last meeting.

The representatives to the Quarterly Meeting who were appointed in the 11th month last reported that they forwarded reasons for their nonattendance.

Spring Grove Preparative Meeting complains of Amos Kenworthy for leaving this Meeting without settling his affairs to satisfaction and for accomplishing his marriage contrary to discipline. Richard Mendenhall and James M. Dunbar are appointed to write to Spring Creek Monthly Meeting, Iowa, and request that Meeting to treat with him on our behalf, and inform us of the result of their labors, and they are directed to report to next meeting.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 2nd month 8th 1862.

A minute was received from our last Quarterly Meeting, directing this Meeting to report to Kansas Quarterly Meeting in future.

The first, second and eighth queries were read in this meeting and the following answers struck from the Preparative, which being approved, are directed to be forwarded to the Quarterly Meeting, in which, as our representatives, we appoint Charles O. Gause, Simon Jones, James M. Dunbar and Richard Mendenhall, who are directed to report to next meeting.

By an extract from the minutes of our last Quarterly Meeting it appears that this Meeting is directed to see that our members place the additions and amendments to the discipline, adopted by our last Yearly Meeting in the book of discipline. Robert Hodson and Richard Mendenhall are appointed at attend to that service and they are directed to report to next meeting.

By an extract from the minutes of our last Quarterly Meeting it appears that this Meeting's quota of Yearly Meeting stock is $4.37.5 and for Indian Concerns $1.50. Charles O. Gause and James M. Dunbar are appointed to solicit subscriptions for raising said sums and they are directed to report to this Meeting in the fifth month next.

(P 52) The committee which was appointed at last meeting to write to Spring Creek Monthly Meeting in the case of Amos Kenworthy report that the service has been performed.

The committee which was continued in the eleventh month last to solicit subscriptions for raising money for the use of the Yearly Meeting in Iowa report that nothing has been received; the committee is continued and directed to report to this Meeting in the fifth month next.

This Meeting appoints James M. Dunbar as Recorder of the births and deaths of our members; also of certificates of marriage and removal.

The Recorder is directed to procure suitable books for recording births and deaths and certificates of marriage and removal and he is authorized to draw on the treasurer for the expense.
