The Odyssey...

a family that makes life a fieldtrip The Fitzwaters

"Fieldtripping is Knowledge in Motion."-the Fitzwaters
Hop on in. It's a little crowded. We've got jugs of frozen water and we'll make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches later.

Buckle up because you've never been on a fieldtrip like this before. We'll jump both time and space to string together seeming unrelated events on a series of adventures. We'll collect first-hand experiences, and look for detours and diversions-- interesting sites, events, and personalities.

Be warned! This is no ordinary "vacation." This is not a trip for the weak of stamina. . . or stomach. The food is cheap, or foraged. The company is swell, but taxing. There is no room for souvenirs, and you may, at times, be asked to help give the van a shove-- out of the way of moving traffic.

Information is one-dimensional, but knowledge is getting your clothes soiled, your fingernails dirty, and getting lost, repeatedly, because there are no maps for where we're going.

"Your life will never be linear again." -the Fitzwaters

Jump in and join us on our current odyssey. It's 1858 and we're following John Brown and "Sam and Jane" on the western route of the Underground Railroad. You'll be an eyewitness as we visit the sites where these historic events took place.
