Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 1st month 17th 1874.

The clerk not being present, Catharine M. Johnson was appointed clerk for the day.

The committee continued last month to forward names for clerk (for) the ensuing year propose Catharine M. Johnson as Clerk and Mary Jones assistant with whom this Meeting unites and they are appointed accordingly.

A memorial was read in this meeting of Ann Varney.

Mary Beals, Delilah Hayworth and Sarah Cook are appointed in conjunction with Men Friends and the Yearly Meeting's committee to visit isolated Friends belonging to this Quarterly (Meeting) for their help and encouragement.

The 1st, 2nd and 8th queries were read in this meeting with written answers from the preparative, a summary of which the clerk is directed to forward to the Quarterly Meeting (by) Delilah Hayworth and Mary Beals whom we appoint representatives. They are directed to report to next meeting what may be given them in charge by the Quarterly Meeting.

Epistles were read in this meeting from Ohio and Canada Yearly Meetings which gave encouraging advice which was satisfactory to the Meeting.

Lane Preparative Meeting request that Spring Grove Monthly Meeting be held alternately at Spring Grove and Lane with which this Meeting unites.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Lane 7th month 18th 1874.

The Friends appointed in Lavina Herst's case, not being ready to report are continued to report to next meeting.

Spring Grove Preparative has forwarded to this meeting a complaint against Mariah Ellis, formerly Dunbar, for accomplishing her marriage contrary to discipline. Sarah Henley and Mary Beals are appointed to visit her on account thereof and report to next meeting.

Mary Jones, Jane Durham and Cynthia Holaday are appointed to purchase a new book for the Meeting and to assist the clerk in recording the minutes and report when complied with.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Spring Grove 8th month 15th 1874.

A certificate has been received, read and accepted from Isaac Arnold and Lydia his wife with their minor daughter Carletta from Dragoon Monthly Meeting of Friends, Kansas, held 7th month 18th 1874.

All the queries have been read in this meeting with answers thereto from the preparative, a summary of which the Meeting directs to be forwarded to the Quarterly Meeting by Catharine M. Johnson and Lydia Arnold whom we appoint our representatives. They are to report to next meeting what may be given them by the Quarterly Meeting.

(P 75) The Friends appointed in Lavina Herst's case report they visited her to good satisfaction, and she requested the subject dropped for the present, with which the Meeting is united in so doing.

The Friends appointed to visit Mariah Ellis report they had an opportunity with her to good satisfaction and she requests that her right of membership be retained with us with which the Meeting unites.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Lane 9th month 19th 1874.

The Friends appointed at last meeting to attend the Quarterly Meeting as representatives report they attended. Nothing was given them in charge.

Spring Grove Preparative informs this Meeting that Celia White (formerly Morris) has accomplished her marriage contrary to discipline and joined another society. Mary Jones and C. M. Johnson are appointed to visit her on account thereof and report to next meeting.

A certificate has been received, read and accepted conveying to this Meeting the right of membership of Rachel P., Lindley M. and Wm. P. Stanley from Shawnee Monthly Meeting of Friends, Kansas, held 8th month 8th 1874. Lydia Arnold and Sarah Cook are appointed in conjunction with a similar committee of Men Friends to visit them for their help and encouragement and report to next meeting.

The committee appointed in 3rd month 1873 to labor in the Temperance cause and to distribute books and tracts now report there has been nothing in temperance cause except to distribute temperance tracts. The committee is continued with the addition of Lydia Arnold's name and they are directed to report in the 8th month next.
